Learn moreWarsaw-listed technology group R22 has announced the acquisition of the leader of the Czech mass SMS communications market – the ProfiSMS Group. The transaction is the first major step in the international expansion of the Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS, formerly Omnichannel Communication) segment. R22 Group will acquire 100% of ProfiSMS for approximately PLN 40 million.
The ProfiSMS Group is the leader of the Czech market for transactional and marketing SMS communications, and is also active in Slovakia. In 2019, ProfiSMS sent 275 million SMS messages and generated EUR 7.3 million in revenue – a year-on-year increase of 4%. During the same period, EBITDA grew by nearly 13% to EUR 1.2 million.
– As the R22 Group, we are continuing our international expansion, but this is our first acquisition in the CPaaS segment. We want to grow our communications services and technology dynamically, both in our region and in Western European markets. We do not rule out further acquisitions, but we are also committed to organic growth. The approximately PLN 40 million transaction was executed by Vercom, a member of the R22 Group, and will be financed through a combination of own funds and a bank loan.

The ProfiSMS Group specialises in SMS communications. The R22 Group plans to develop its presence in the Czech market through the cross-selling of email and push communication services.
